The STEM Education - Teaching Minor is for students in the undergraduate Teacher Preparation Program (TPP) leading towards initial teaching licensure in the state of Massachusetts (MA). This minor is designed for students interested in education theory and teaching practices of math, science, engineering, or digital literacy/computer science at the middle and high school level classroom. While the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) grants the teaching license, the STEM Education Center and TPP confer the WPI minor.
The coursework for the minor is 2 full units, and most are with EDU prefix courses specific to TPP. Up to 1 unit can be double counted towards a degree requirement. Students interested in the minor should speak to the Director of TPP.
