Mission Statement:

The mission of the Cybersecurity program at WPI is to prepare undergraduates with the knowledge and skills to design, analyze, and secure modern computing systems. Through a rigorous blend of computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and applied cybersecurity courses, students will master both software and hardware foundations while developing an appreciation for the human, business, and societal contexts in which technology operates.

Program Educational Objectives

In support of its goals and mission, the WPI Cybersecurity undergraduate program's educational objectives are to graduate students who will:

  • achieve professional success through a strong foundation in computer science, computer engineering, and cybersecurity principles, enabling them to design and secure complex computing systems;
  • become leaders and innovators in industry, government, and academia by building on a rigorous education that emphasizes critical analysis, experimentation, and deep understanding of both software and hardware systems, as well as the evolving landscape of attacks against them;
  • pursue lifelong learning and continuing professional development;
  • use their understanding of the impact of technology on society for the benefit of humankind.
