Introductory calculus-based course with laboratory in Newtonian mechanics. Topics include: kinematics of motion, vectors, Newton’s laws, friction, work-energy, impulse-momentum, for both translational and rotational motion. Students may not receive credit for both PH 1110 and PH 1111.
Recommended Background
Working knowledge of differential calculus (MA 1021), and concurrent study of MA 1022 (integral calculus) or higher.
